# Google Drive backup

The device can upload your cards to a folder in your own Google Drive.

## Linking your account

1. Connect the device to Wi-Fi.
2. Select **Menu > Cloud > Sync VMC now**.
3. The display shows a short code. On a phone or PC, open [google.com/device](https://www.google.com/device), sign in and enter the code.
4. The device uploads the current card.

The link is stored on the device. A factory reset removes it.

## What is uploaded

Cards go to a folder named `MCPRO2_` followed by the device's MAC address, with `PS1` and `PS2` subfolders mirroring the storage layout. The device only ever touches files in this folder.

## Manual and automatic sync

* **Sync VMC now** uploads the currently mounted card and channel.
* **Auto Sync** uploads a card automatically after the console writes to it. Auto sync only applies to cards of 8 MB and smaller. Larger cards must be synced manually.

## During a sync

The display shows the upload progress and the cloud icon animates. The card cannot be changed and the WebUI reports **Cloud busy!** until the upload finishes. Hold a button to cancel.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://8bitmods.gitbook.io/manuals/wireless/cloud-backup.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
