# Troubleshooting

| Symptom                                   | What to check                                                                                                                           |
| ----------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| The LED is off | The Dreamcast is on and the dongle is pushed fully into the port. |
| A Bluetooth controller does not pair | The LED is blue and you pressed the button once. Sony, Nintendo and most 8BitDo controllers need a USB Bluetooth adapter. |
| The adapter does not connect | Both are in 2.4G mode. Pair them again: press the button on each. |
| A wired controller keeps disconnecting | Use a powered USB hub. |
| There is no rumble | Vibration is turned on in the game's options, and the controller supports rumble. |
| A mouse or keyboard game does not respond | Plug the dongle into port A. |
| A game cannot find a memory card | A keyboard or mouse is connected. They have no memory card slot. |
| Saves are missing | The right card is mounted on the WebUI **VMU** page. A VMU in the BitLink DC Adapter's controller is used instead of the virtual cards. |
| The WebUI cannot find the dongle | Press the button three times. Use Chrome or Edge. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://8bitmods.gitbook.io/manuals/bitlink-dc-dongle/reference/troubleshooting.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
