# Connecting to the WebUI

The WebUI is a web page that sets up the adapter over Bluetooth. Use Chrome or Edge on a computer or an Android phone. Safari and iPhone do not support Web Bluetooth.

1. In 2.4G or wired mode, press the power button three times to turn on the WebUI Bluetooth. In Bluetooth gamepad mode it is always on.
2. Open `https://bitlink.8bitmods.shop/app/`.
3. Select **Connect** and choose **BitLinkPad** from the list, or **8BitMods BitLink Gamepad** in Bluetooth gamepad mode.
4. The badge changes to **Connected**, and **Device Info** shows the firmware version and link mode.

For the adapter, use **Config** for the link mode and firmware updates, **LED**, and **Mapping** for Bluetooth gamepad mode. The **VMU** page, **Reboot** and **Factory Reset** are for the dongle.

## Notes

* In 2.4G and wired modes the WebUI Bluetooth turns off after 5 minutes without activity. Press the power button three times to turn it on again.
* Settings for 2.4G and wired play, such as button mapping and combos, are on the dongle. Connect to the dongle's WebUI for those.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://8bitmods.gitbook.io/manuals/bitlink-dc-adapter/webui/connecting.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
